use of direct and indirect sentence of past



USE OF DIRECT AND INDIRECT SENTENCE OF PAST
1.    Direct Speech
Direct speech is the way to say other people’s word with for submit full quote and not change a structure word although meaning from the speak (same purpose) and saying or sentence.
Example : “I have no time to study” Ali said.

2.    Indirect Speech
Indirect Speech is the way to say other people’s word with the way submit. But there is change some words but not change purpose for words (same purpose but afference sentence)
Example : Ali said that he had no time to study
The regulations of Indirect speech (reported speech)
1. If verb (main clause) in the present tence form and future tense, so verb indirect speech don’t change tense.

Example:
a.      Adam says, “I will go fishing with my father”. (direct speech / kalimat langsung)
b.      Adam says/tells me that he will go fishing with his father. (indirect speech / kalimat tak langsung)

information: in the sentence “Adam says” is introduction sentence or mention called main clause is present tense, so not change tense in the indirect speech. attention change word personal pronoun. “I will go fishing with my father” change to become “he will go fishing with his father because who speaking is Adam, so personal pronoun from I (Adam). He (Adam) and also my father (Adam father/his father).


2.     If the main clause (foreword) in the past tense, then there is a change of tenses in a sentence is not immediate.
